Description
Virgil Kelly
Student Pilot with 50+ hours, solo endorsement, in cross-country training.

I fly a 1966 Cessna 150, N2659J from my local airport, KLWB in Lewisburg, WV.

I'm lucky enough to have the practice area over my rural hometown, so a lot of my friends and family get to watch me fly and practice maneuvers.

A simmer since FS5 and a 486, back in about '92 or '93. Lately I'm sticking to flying the default trainer (a 172) in FSX because I've managed to teach myself so many bad habits in the past that I'm having to unlearn now. And here I thought I was giving myself an edge...

PC is a custom built unit, with MSI P6N SLI Platinum MoBo, Core2 Quad processor(s), XP Pro x64, 4 GB RAM, 2 nVidia GeForce NX8800 GTS video cards with 640 MB each SLI-ed together, Sound Blaster XFi Fatal1ty Edition, a 10,000 RPM 150 GB SATA HD, and a 7200 rpm 500 GB SATA HD...

3DMark scores it around 12,535 points.

CH Products Yoke and Pedals, and FSGenesis' FSX scenery pack (v2 ) (Thanks Justin)

Ironically, this is hooked up to a 26.4 kbps dial-up on 75 year old phone lines... Rolling Eyes

I still get at best 30 - 40 FPS after much tweaking, and sometimes FSX brings my system to its knees!

I'm anxiously awaiting FSX Service Pack 3

To explain all of the music...

I am a union musician, I play bass for the blues band Sweety
http://www.sweety.cc
and I play third trumpet in the West Virginia Jazz Orchestra
http://www.local674-afm.com/wvjo.htm
and I play fife in the Andrew Lewis Volunteers Fife and Drum Corps
http://www.fifedrum.org/alv/

I compose and arrange music and enjoy MIDI (the modern player piano!).

I'm also a master electrician by day, but that's just to pay the bills.
